"You Gotta Be" by Des'ree

This song came on the radio this morning and SueZQ said it was another of her favorite.  It's a great song and EXACTLY what I needed at this point in time.  I've been letting things get me down lately.  I've gotta take the perfect advice in this song...

"Stupid Girl" by Garbage

This kinda fits "can't believe you fake it".  Can't believe I faked it for all those years...

"Wake Up Irene" by Hank Thompson

Another song on Nat "King" Cole's Ramblin' Rose album was Goodnight Irene, Goodnight that many artists recorded back in the day.  I always got a good laugh that NKC's label mate recorded this follow up song.

"Sing Another Song (and We'll All Go Home) by Nat "King" Cole

I was listening to the Nat "King" Cole Ramblin' Rose album tonight.  It is the NKC album I always remember from my childhood.  This is the last song on the album and it was such a nice way to finish up the evening.

"Smack Dab In The Middle" by The Mills Brothers

This is a recent Mills Brothers discovery.  I don't remember hearing this song until I was playing this "Our Golden Favorites" LP the last few days.  It was fun seeing the 78 RPM record from 1955 (it was a very good year).

"Glow Worm" by The Mills Brothers

Update 27-Dec-2018: I made this post on 30-Sep-2018 and then discovered I had already posted this song back in 2015 with a slightly different title.  So I'm moving this post to the same day as the previous post.

I finished fixing the wiring to the garage today and I plugged my little record player in to test it.  I grabbed a couple of albums to listen to out of the garage.  This was one of them.

This was my favorite Mills Brothers song back in those days.

"The Glow-Worm" by The Mills Brothers

The Mills Brothers were definitely a large part of my childhood music scene.  This was my favorite Mills Brothers song back then.

"My Shy Violet" by The Mills Brothers

A few days ago I was playing a Mills Brothers best of record and realized what a great song this is.  Then I had it stuck in my head for a couple of days (earworm).  This song was also on the old reel-to-reel tape that Cliff Peterson of the Hi-Fi Shop recorded originally (see my post from 5-Aug-2011).

""Caught A Lite Sneeze" by Tori Amos

Worked at the Utah Pride Festival today as a runner.  It was fascinating experience.  On the way back from a run, a guy came up to my escort and I and wanted to know where the Lost and Found was.  We told him we had no clue and suggested some places to try.  He went into this diatribe that nobody was helping him and insisting we tell him where the Lost and Found was.  I was thinking: what part of "we don't know" don't you understand?

Anyway, the rain poured down a couple of times but stopped.  But towards the end of the night it was like a torrent.  We had to go pick up all of the final packages while it was pouring.  I didn't take a jacket because it was so warm this afternoon.  I was drenched to the skin.

When we were finished I ended up walking a few blocks, it was still raining, to 5th South where the truck was parked.  I had left the windows down a bit, so the inside of the truck was damp.  Oh, yeah, the heater doesn't work :(

I started the truck and this song started playing.  I thought that's perfect, I probably will catch a light sneeze...

"It's My Life" by Dr. Alban

Another "It's My Life" song with very significant lyrics.  Specifically "stop killing me" is very apropo.  The sign I held earlier this evening, at the Dyke, Trans*, Sexually Fluid and Poly Rally! said "STOP KILLING US".

"Going' Nowhere" by Chris Isaak

This morning I was thinking about one of my friends' relationships and how it was going nowhere.  A different thing than what this song is about but it reminded me of it.
