"Nevertheless" by the Mills Brothers

I finished fixing the wiring to the garage today and I plugged my little record player in to test it.  I grabbed a couple of albums to listen to out of the garage.  This was one of them.

Note: I originally posted "Glow Worm" for today but then I noticed I'd already posted "The Glow-Worm" on 9-Jun-2015 so I moved that post to that same day.

This is another great song off that album...

"Psycho Killer" by Michelle Moonshine and Co.

Michelle Moonshine & Co. at the Local Women Who Rock show

Update 25-Nov-2018: added photo above of Michelle Moonshine and Co. from concert that night.

This was so AWESOME at the concert last night!  I'm very frustrated that my phone decided to reboot and it was so far into the song by the time I started recording!!

I like this version better than the original Talking Heads!  I absolutely *LOVE* it!!

"Pieces of April" by Three Dog Night

Somehow this draft accidentally posted empty on the wrong date (Oct. 1st) as an empty post.  Now that I'm fixing it I can't remember exactly what brought this song to mind.  It might have been on one of my lists of songs from my old cassettes (see my post from 18-Aug-2018), but I can't remember for sure.

"Gymnopédie No.1" by Erik Satie

Yesterday is the first day I remember my state of being changing so much.  I tried recording "Riders on the Storm" but the backing track I used was just too funky.  I finally got tired of fucking with it and decided to throw it out there as it is.

Then I was freezing and had these flashes of being tortured because I'm transgender.  I was all sorts of edgy, so I went out and worked on the wiring for the garage for a while.  I twisted the ground wires too tight and one broke off, I was tired at that point so I decided to leave it for later.  But I felt okay at that point.

I had to run to the credit union before they closed and decided to go to Trader Joe's to see if my friend Hannah was there if she would like a ticket to go to the Local Women Who Rock show on Friday.  She wasn't there but then there was a weird timing magical moment with my friend Sherri.  We both agreed that was totally a magical moment.  I was totally elated.

But later I started feel horrible again.  I was freezing again and I hurt like hell all over.  I had planned to go to the Tavernacle but I felt far too horrible.  I still hurt this morning, but I'm okay.

Anyway, I saw this and the images of Paris and I loved it!  It so matches my mood this morning.  I love that one phrase that is in the Blood, Sweat and Tears "Variations on a Theme by Erik Satie" that I posted on 15-Dec-2015.  I also hear it on Brighton's playlist while I'm getting acupuncture.

I watched these videos of Michael Moore on Democracy Now and I'm very depressed.  I wonder if there is even hope for this nation?

"Ruby Ann" by Rachel Edwards

It feels pretty weird picking one of my own videos for my blog, like I'm "tooting my own horn" so to speak.  But I love this song from a lesbian perspective, it feels so perfect to me:

Big man you've got money in your hand, so what!
You're at a table for two, but still there's only you big shot

Your money can't buy, your power can't hold
You can't romance your fame
Ruby Ann took the hand of this poor, poor GIRL
Ain't true love a funny thing!

"Twenty Killer Hurts" by Gene Loves Jezebel

OMG!!  I can't believe I haven't posted this song before!  I mean WTF?!!!  This is like my favorite Gene Loves Jezebel song.  I remember blasting this song sitting in my old 1974 Monte Carlo, out in the parking lot of Evans & Sutherland.

Anyway, I was thinking about talking to Talia about not being able to trust my hearing.  Even though I have shocked two audiologists in recent years, because I can still hear to 20 KHz at my age, because of MS my brain doesn't process sound correctly.  I'm not really sure it processes anything correctly anymore.  :/

"Oh Chief" by Stevi Daft

This song kicks ass!  The film "Her Side of the Bed" popped up in a search for "lesbian" movies on Amazon Prime.  It was a sort of okay movie.  I don't really know if I would call it a lesbian movie.  It was a kinda okay movie, I probably won't watch it ever again.  But I *loved* this song that was used in the film!

"Broken English" by Marianne Faithful

Found this great song on one of those Hip-O compilation CD's that were pretty cool.  I have several that I found, oh so many years ago. This one is titled "Rock She Said - Guitars and Attitudes.

I've decided to just throw this shit out there!  Life is too fucking short to waste time stressing over whether this is a good idea or not!!  So bomb away....

My third panic attack of the week this morning :(   I missed BABEfest, the fundraiser for the Rock-n-Roll Camp for Girls, because I just couldn't cope with everything.

"Zing Went the Strings of My Heart" by Judy Garland

I had another nasty panic attack this morning.  There is so much stuff to deal with!!

I had to get my Estridiol prescription refilled, it kills me that I/we had about $100 left to make it through to next Tuesday when my SSDI comes in and now it took almost half of that ($45) to get my prescription.

United Healthcare is so evil.  I've had 3 different doctor's offices tell me they are the WORST insurance company!

I was listening to the "Go With the Greats" album again, while I was taking a sponge bath out under the pergola today.
