"Chug-A-Lug" by Roger Miller

Yet another wacky song by Roger Miller that I've always had a fondness for.  I love the photos in this video.

"You Can't Rollerskate in a Buffalo Herd" by Roger Miller

Here's a fun song that I always liked.  It was only a few years ago that I figured out what you couldn't change in the line: "You can't change the film with a kid on your back".  Changing the film, wow that is so weird to even think about today.  You just never hear anybody say "hold on a minute while I change the film" anymore.

"We've Only Just Begun" by Carpenters

It was funny this morning, as I was doing the morning routine, I was thinking about a letter I needed to write in an effort to describe how I have changed.

I went to the closet to get something and had a moment that exemplified that change.  I found an old T-shirt, one that in the past I considered one of my very favorite T-shirts.  It simply had the words "GAME OVER" on the front (in letters like an old video game).

My first thought was "That's so WRONG.  MY game isn't over, it has only just begun!".

"My Hometown" by Bruce Springsteen

Another great nostalgia song.  I always remember the part about sitting on his dad's lap and driving the "big ol' Buick".

"Don't Be Afraid" by Carpenters

Funny I started writing this post earlier and now I cant remember what brought it to mind.  It's a great song in any case.

"Where Have All the Cowboys Gone" by Paula Cole

My Buick Gran Sport Stage 1 at Bonneville Raceway
Update 26-Dec-2018: added photo above.

I had forgotten about this song until a link appeared on one of the videos for yesterday's track (which is a strange leap if you ask me).  A similar theme to Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car".

The "lyric" video is interesting.  Think they one line is "where is my prairie son", not "prairie song".  It also has a longer version of the song with lyrics the other version doesn't have:

Where is my Marlboro Man?
Where is his shiny gun?
Where is my lonely ranger?

"No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach's In)" by The T- Bones

Long day yesterday, 3 hours of sleep, didn't stop from 4 A.M. until 1 A.M. this morning...

I guess Google has figured out I'm trans...  it keeps popping up suggested videos about Trans issues and people :)

I read a comment by somebody a while ago "Google knows everything about you".

So this popped up while I was searching for songs yesterday:

http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7LswM2HsyMWNOmKF_dLQ6Q

And that led me to this video that says so many things that I feel are true:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYIpI0bJf1Q

"There is a point in your life where you deep down want to be what you want to be, and what you want people to associate you with. I feel I am very at peace with myself."

"Rather than hating yourself and wanting to be someone else, you should just love yourself, because you are beautiful."

"You have to accept yourself, before anyone can accept you".

- Josie Kardashian

In watching several YouTube videos lately I've realized that the younger generation is very wise.

Now I don't remember what reminded me of this video but it was a fun tune (and used in the Alka Seltzer commercial).

I was amazed by how many videos of this tune were on YouTube.  The "Little LP" a.k.a. an EP was interesting.  The stereo version is definitely 60's style stereo too, various sounds hard panned left and right.

"Hello Hello" by Sopwith Camel

Here's a blast from the past!!  And I love that the video I found on YouTube sounds like it is from the Dick Clark show and he announces that the band is in Park City, Utah.  Too fun!!

"What the World Needs Now is Love" by Jackie Deshannon

Another suggestion from Wendy, another one that I'm surprised I haven't posted prior to this!  I posted the follow up song, "Please Explain", over three years ago and I didn't think to post the original song.  It's so sad that the song is as applicable as ever :(

""Try A Little Kindness" by Glen Campbell

I've been thinking about this song and what a great song it is.  I think it is good advice, not just for "narrow minded people on their narrow minded street", but for all of us.

And a cool guitar solo in the live video!

"It's My Life" by No Doubt

Me in 2017 - It's crazy to think my hair is naturally this curly
Rachel update 27-Apr-2018:  Added this photo was taken in the Spring of 2017 by my wonderful friend, Cat Palmer, for a Transgender art project she did.  She is an amazing photographer, I highly recommend her:

Update 19-Oct-2015: Ha ha ha!  Why would I have thought I would ever find time to finish this!!!

I was talking to my friend Carri (yes Aunt Carri of the "Newer New Wave" on KCQN) on Facebook this morning and realized I never finished writing this...  sigh!  Always so many things going on :(  But many of them are wonderful things, like,  right now I'm busy helping with the Genderevolution Conference coming up on Nov. 14th.

Anyway here it is, a little over 6 months since I transitioned and I never got around to finishing this post.  Can I just say what an incredible, amazing, wonderful six months it has been.  I had NO IDEA it was even possible to be this HAPPY!  It is like I'm living in a fantastic dream or a Fairy Tale.  I've found such immense joy in living full time as a trans woman...

You know... I should write more about what my life has been like these last six months, but I think I will do that in a current blog post, like here: 19-Oct-2015

Update 1-Feb-2017: I realized there wasn't a link to the final (corresponding) post in my old blog.  It is here: https://scotts-vital-music.blogspot.com/2015/04/its-my-life-by-talk-talk.html and I also realized that I didn't explain that the final post in my old blog was the same song by a different artist.  I thought it symbolic to post the same song to both blogs, my old blog with a male vocal and one with a female vocal on this (my new) blog.

Original Post:

Just getting started...    I'll finish this soon!
