"I Can't Dance" by Genesis

Here it is 31-Dec-2018 and I have almost 80 draft posts that aren't complete.  I've decided just to post them without any comment or photos.  It's unlikely but maybe someday I'll find time to add something here.

"Hello Groceries" by Chase

I found an old pay stub of mine (remember I went by Scott back then) from 46 years ago today.  I made a whopping $1.60 an hour.

They printed your Social Security Number on dammed near everything in those days.  Of course Identity Theft wasn't rampant then...

I note that it looks like it was printed on a "Line Printer" that was the common computer printer in those days of "Mainframe Computers".

Anyway, this is another great song off of Bill Chase's band Chase's self-titled album.

The "Topic" version may actually be the Quadraphonic version as it sounds strange to me.  Some kind of reverb or echo (?) that I don't remember in the normal stereo version.

Might I also say that $120 two-weeks pay would barely cover one week of groceries today  :(

"It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels" by Kitty Wells

Another song used in the film "Desert Hearts".  See my post from Yesterday.

This a reply/answer song to Hank Thompson's "Wild Side of Life".  Yeah, why is (was?) the blame on us women?

"Leavin' on Your Mind" by Patsy Cline

This song plays during the opening of the lesbian movie "Desert Hearts" and I love both this song and the movie!  Funny I remember every single song in the movie.

Feeling old, I could so relate to the era (1959) in the movie.  The TV, the furniture, the cars, the clothing!  The sound of the doors slamming and the engines on the cars.  The car Cay drives is the same car my dad had back in those days.

"Super Freak" by Rick James

Insert photo here!

Yet another song from SueZQ's Pie-n-Beer day playlist.  So strange that I've never posted this before.

Well I have to say the party was... IRONIC!  For the first time ever I was excited to be having the party and I invited more people than ever before!  And...  not a single one showed up.  It was a ghost town.

Well Sue's sister, niece, daughters and their two friends were the only people that showed up.  We have a fridge full of pie and beer!

"Waves" by Luna Shadows

I feel totally stupid that I didn't figure out the entry

Left: one of the Burlesque dancers - Right: Bunny singing

I went to Prohibition bar tonight to see my friend Bunny perform.  Funny, by coincidence some of my friends were there, celebrating a birthday.  I got to enjoy the evening with them.

Prohibition is very cool, all sorts of era memorabilia and decor.  But definitely out of my income tax bracket.  I kept hearing the line from "Rock 'n' Roll Lifestyle" by Cake: "Is it you or your parents in this income tax bracket?".

Funny, by coincidence I happened across this in a "Lingerie Throughout History" video from BuzzFeed that mentions Flappers:

I heard this someplace and decided I should add it to my karaoke list.  This video is fun dedicated to the first moon landing:

I don't like the timing in this version with Count Basie, but most of the videos I see are based on it:

"Wicked Rain" by Los Lobos

I watched the first season of Bosch on Amazon Prime.  Totally feels like a tough male cop show.  But I had to see the ending...

Anyway, this song played at the end of the first season.  I suspect it is from the same album as "Kiko and the Lavender Moon", one of my favorite songs (see my post for 10-Jul-2017)

"Ugly Bag of Mostly Water" by Rachel Edwards

17-Nov-2016

Update 18-July-2018: There were rendering issues with the first version of my video.  Some of the photos were the wrong size (and not the 16:9 ratio).  Plus my dear friend Psarah Johnson commented that seeing Trump's pictures made her want to puke.  I agree he makes me want to hurl as well.

So I think I've fixed most of the rendering issues and to ease the pain of seeing that <insert any of a long list of derogatory terms here> person, I've started making fun and hopefully a point about him.  Only one of his photos are updated in this version, but I plan to keep working on them.

YouTube (Version 2): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gpTSQqmitI

Original post:

I finished making my first music video today.  The whole concept of posting music and a video I made myself seems so weird!

I woke up one morning last week and had this powerful urge to just create some nasty music. Music that just wasn't pretty.  I had recently found a sound on my synth called "Capt. Crunch" that was kind of a harsh, ugly sound. That felt like the was the perfect sound.  I laid down the drum track and then just started playing around with Capt. Crunch, trying to figure out something that really wasn't too melodic.

The working title for it was simply "Ugly". While I was messing around with it a line from an episode of Star Trek TNG popped into my head. If I remember correctly in that episode there were crystalline creatures that were calling the humans "ugly bags of mostly water". I decided that would be the title of the music.

"Bulletproof Heart" by The Silencers

A group of us did a Direct Action today at the Management & Training Corp. headquarters in Centerville today.  Eight of us got arrested.

Fox News was the worst report, it mostly consisted of MTC's response and didn't cover our point hardly at all.  I've decided to spread the news articles out over the next few days.  Since I already have the Fox links here in this post I'm going to leave it.

"Let It Be" by The Beatles

I started writing this post a couple of weeks ago and didn't finish it or write any notes.  I can't remember and now I'm not sure what inspired choosing this song for today.

The religious factor, my being a non-believer, really makes me wonder...

"Magic" by Blond

Me from around 1998

Found some old photos from around 1998 (the date on the package when the film was developed).

Damn!!!  Now I can't remember what movie I was watching that had this song in it.  It wasn't the "Afternoon Delight" movie that is in this video.

"These Eyes" by The Guess Who

Grave site for Berta Marquez
So sad yet another funeral for a transgender woman.  I don't even know what to say anymore.  It would just be SO NICE if people could just accept transgender people for what they are!

I originally started to post "Undun" for today's song, but then found it was already posted in my old "Scott's Vital Music" blog (before I came out as Rachel) on 4-Nov-2013.

I think this was the first Guess Who song I really loved.

"Hand Me Down World" by The Guess Who

Trump has been a nightmare for our environment.  If we destroy this planet well, "we have no spare".  Making it easier for companies to dump shit in our water is just one of the many, many nasty things Trump has done to damage this beautiful little planet.

SierraClub: https://coal.sierraclub.org/the-problem/water-food-supply

And Trump has been spreading hate, too.  Just for the record.  He has been so VERY nasty to transgender people!
