"Making the Right Move" by Swing Out Sister

I was searching on YouTube to see if the song "Spirit Moves" happened to show up yet.  It hasn't but this song did and I really enjoyed hearing it again.

Started me thinking about how I made the right move almost a year ago and decided to become Rachel.  It was the best move of my life!  Without a doubt the best year of my life (so far)!  I love being a girl/woman more with every passing day!

"Sometime Later" by Alpha

I really had the feeling I wanted to be "Somewhere Not Here" tonight.  It reminded me of the song by Alpha by that name.  I really wanted to post it for today's song, but I posted it a few month's ago on "December 4th".  However that led me to this song by Alpha that I really like too!

"Face in the Crowd" by Gary Lewis & The Playboys

SueZQ commented that she felt like just another face in the crowd when we came out of Costco.  It reminded me of this song.

"White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane

The insomnia has reared it's ugly head again!  So disappointing!  There were a couple of months where I had many nights where I slept better than I have in over a decade.  This morning I feel like I'm going down the rabbit hole again :(

Anyway it reminded me of this song...

"Lay It Down" by Cowboy Junkies

There was a sticky note laying on the floor, in the middle of my room this morning.  I have no idea how it got there or where it came from.  The only thing written on it was: "lay it down - cowboy junkies".  I found this on YouTube and played it several times while I was getting dressed.

"Someone Saved My Life Tonight" by Elton John

My MS symptoms have been worse lately and earlier tonight I was on a downer.  But I started to think about my alter-ego and Miss Divine pulled me out of the funk.  While it wasn't quite as dramatic as saving my life, she helped me turn it around and it reminded me of this song.

"I Still Believe (Great Design)" by The Call

This song came on KCQN this morning and I realized that the lyrics were exactly what I needed:

But i still believe
I still believe
Through the pain
And the grief
Through the lies
Through the storms
Through the cries
And through the wars
Oh, i still believe

I'll march this road
I'll climb this hill
Upon my knees if I have to

"Cognitive Dissonance" by Angel Magic

I went to a local show last night at the Urban Lounge and was impressed by this band.  I bought their cassette (which included an awesome digital download, I was able to download FLAC files of all the tracks) and the track that really jumped out at me was this one.

I can't find the song on YouTube right now.  I'm going to try to contact them and see if I can put a video up myself or something.

Update 20-Feb-2016: I was able to get it played on KCQN today:

"Miss Sun" by Boz Scaggs

I've recently developed an alter-ego to help me work through some issues.  After I came up with a name I realized she had a theme song: Miss Divine.  This morning I was listening to a Boz Scaggs record and this other great "Miss" song came on.

"Shrine" by The Dambuilders

One of my most vivid memories of Club DV8 was going there with Jason when he won tickets from X96 to The Dambuilders show.  It was fun, I really enjoyed the show!  I really like the "Encendedor" album.

Jason, I'm sorry that I failed you as a father.  I look back at so many things now and see how broken I was.  For so many years I had no idea what was wrong with me.  I was so caught up in trying to find happiness that I lost focus on the things that were important.

So for what it's worth, Happy Birthday!

"Hard To Explain" by Cowboy Junkies

Great lyrics, like:

I went to see my doctor
Because I thought I had a hole in my heart
But he said, girl you're just wasting my time
Because the man messed up my messed up mind

"This Girls in Love with You" by Burt Bacharach & Ruth Williamson

I posted Herb Alpert's version of this song a couple of years ago and mentioned I remember singing along with it back in the 70's.  It is crazy to think now, how I had no way of knowing that some 40 years later I would be singing it as a girl.

I listened to several versions of this song by many famous female vocalists and none of them really grabbed me.  This one came the closest, but it is kind weird.  What is that surgery going on in the video? It seems kinda creepy.

Update: I found that this video is from a TV showcalled Nip/Tuck: http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/niptuck-2006/episode-8-season-4/conor-mcnamara/100325

This always reminds me of an old relationship.  The title track from one of my favorite (obscure) albums of all time.  I love the video for this song!

"Chattanooga Choo Choo" by Glenn Miller

Last year I posted another favorite train song: "On the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe".   And speaking of trains, we were on our way back from St. George today and SueZQ told me that "The City of New Orleans" is still running.   She said someday we are going to take a ride on it.  :)

"Free Man In Paris" by Joni Mitchell

Another Joni Mitchell song I've been working.  So much fun to sing.

The weird thing is that I did a Reiki session with my dear friend Alaia and my singing seemed to improve greatly afterwards.

"Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)" by Andy Grammer

SueZQ heard this song in Memphis and texted me: "I have a song for you: Good to Be Alive Right Now.  Don't know the artist".  It was easy to find on YouTube.

This the perfect song for me.  It is so true!  It only took about 60 years but I have finally found my Hallelujah!
