"Slow Burn" by Kacey Musgraves

Side A of the new Kacey Musgraves album on clear vinyl

I got the new vinyl, dropped the needle into the groove and her beautiful voice filled the air with these amazing lyrics it was love at first listen.  I'm okay with a slow burn myself!!

I cried throughout watching the Saturday Night Live and Late Night live performances.  Just so beautiful!

"Murder" by Act

I'm filling in my draft posts here in August 2020.  Just putting in a link to the song for now.  I planned to post the song "Murder" by Act, but I could not find it on YouTube.  This is the song that was played on the New Wave stations in Salt Lake City - KCGL / KJQ and so on.

The 12 inch version is called Absolutely Immune II which is the one I think was played on the radio here.

"Rum and Coca-Cola" by The Andrews Sisters

KSL article talking about the Terrace Ballroom

One of my favorites from my childhood...  I think one of the first drinks I ever had was a rum and Coca-Cola.  I remember drinking them at the Terrace Ballroom between 4th and 5th South on Main Street in Salt Lake City, which is now a parking lot.

Weird to think bands like Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Iron Butterfly, Grateful Dead, and Jefferson Airplane played there.

"Kiss of Fire" by Jerry Murad's Harmonicats

I was listening to this album this morning and realized how much I love this song.  It sounded so good I played it again and again several times.

Note the really old Columbia label.

Petty Bitches at The Royal on 11-Apr-2018

I was at The Royal again last night and talked to the gentleman taking photos.  I asked him if the photos he had taken when I was there a few weeks ago.  He said his photos are on a Facebook group "Jam Fam SLC":

Anyway, these are some of the photos from when I got up on stage with the Petty Bitches.  I was nervous at first but it was really fun.  I wish there had been some recording of it.

My blog post of the Petty Bitches performing a cover of Tom Petty's "Breakdown" was on 16-Dec-2017.

Anyway we did two songs that night and one of them was a cover of this song.

"The Folk Singer" by Tommy Roe

Found my 8 channel audio interface yesterday

I was out in the garage yesterday and found my one audio interface, so hopefully I can record my band (FTP) now.

I went out to The Royal tonight and was surprised to find my friend JoEllen from Las Vegas there.  She was one of the first trans-women I met.  She said something about my being kind of a "local folk hero".  It reminded me of this song.

She said she is doing gigs in Vegas, so that was cool to hear.  Although she said she gets some grief about being trans.  I was surprised that would still be happening in Las Vegas.

She also asked if I was "still singing" and that kind of surprised me.  I'm not sure how that came up.
