"There Goes My Baby" by The Drifters

I apparently forgot to remove the no-record tab from that cassette

Yet again I'm astounded that I've never posted this song, or any Drifters song, before now.  This was also on that cassette that I've been listening to.  See my post for Thursday.

"Sittin' in the Balcony" by Eddie Cochran

My"Best of All #86" cassette tape

At random, I pulled the above cassette (my "Best of All #86") out of a box.  I decided I should log the songs on it as I listened to it.  I've tried to remember what the other song I loved by Eddie Cochran was, but it never came to mind until I put this cassette on.

This song reminded me of when my friend Stacey and I went to see "American Graffiti" at the old Century Theaters on 33rd South in Salt Lake City.  Or as people called them back in those days "The Twin Boobs" LOL   I think it was around 1975 or '76.  Anyway, Stacey and I never saw much of the movie.  It's was the best smooching fest ever!  Just the fact I remember it some 44 years later, it was epic!

"Little Old Lady From Pasadena" by Jan & Dean

I'm going to do the same thing I did in yesterday's post.   Again Shazam was able to identify the song "[Here They Come] From All Over the World" by Jan & Dean from that tape I talked about in Monday's post.  Again I debated whether to make it today's song, but I can't say I even like it that much.

But then it was funny, right after that I pulled into Jitter Bug Coffee Hop in my red Mazda and Bruce said I reminded him of the song "Little Old Lady From Pasadena".

"Heart" by Wayne Newton

Electrical & Musical Industries
So Shazam was able to identify the song "Coming On Too Strong" by Wayne Newton from that tape I talked about in yesterday's post..  I debated whether to make it today's song, it is catchy, but I don't know if I can say it is one of my favorites.  One of the videos for "Coming On Too Strong" said it was Beach Boys style and I was like "Wow! it totally sounds like a Beach Boys song!", just with Wayne Newton singing.  That is kinda weird!

And something else jumped out at me, the "Electrical & Musical Industries" on the label of the (I'm guessing) British 45.  That had to become EMI, that's trippy.

Heart:

Anyway, I decided to post one of my favorite Wayne Newton Songs for today titled just "Heart":

"Spanish Perfume" by Jimmy Rice

Just going through this old reel-to-reel tape, trying to figure out what all the songs are on it.  After figuring out this song (which was difficult).  I couldn't find the lyrics with a Google Search.  The tape runs at the wrong speed, whichever tape deck it was recorded on was running at the wrong speed.  I've had to record them onto my computer, slow them down 16% and then they were good enough for Shazam to identify them.

I'm guessing the tape was recorded in 1965, except for one, all of the songs I've checked are from '65.  That means this tape was recorded 55 years ago.

"You're The One" by Johnny Rivers

Trying to make a track listing of this old reel-to-reel tape
It's been hard to make a track listing of this tape because it is not stereo, it has 2 mono tracks (at least on side 1).  There is an entire episode of "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." in one track.  Funny it an episode I actually remember about protesters at a college and Solo and Illia get tied to chairs and have to answer some automated learning device to keep from getting blown up or something like that.
