"I Don't Need No Doctor" by Humble Pie

I couldn't find a video on YouTube that I thought was the version from the album.  However this version sounds pretty similar as far as I remember.

"Tight Rope" by Leon Russell

Way back in 2011 I had commented (in this post) about Leon Russell and the "This Masquerade" song.  I realized my confusion when I turned over the 45-RPM single and saw this song on the A-side.  This is the song I really liked.

"Looking Through a Tear" by Wayne Newton

I love the lyrics to this song from Wayne Newton's "Red Roses for a Blue Lady" album.  Hard to believe this was 50 years ago.

This is a good example of music that makes me feel something real, which I contend makes it great art/music.

"Don't Talk To Me" by Wayne Newton

I can't find a good copy of this song on YouTube.  The one below says "Video not available", maybe it will be at some point in the future...?

"Heart" by Wayne Newton

I've had this song stuck in my head several times lately.  Two videos on YouTube have the title as "Heart! (I Hear You Beating)", but on my original vinyl LP it is just "Heart" on both the sleeve and the label.

"Laura Lee" by Wayne Newton

I'm trying to remember if this is an off to war song?  I can't really remember when the Vietnam War started...  hmm, looking at the Wikipedia entry it started in the 50's and escalated in the early 60's.  Wow!  So this is likely a song about going off  to war.

Of course there is a song that describes how I feel about war, which I posted on 30-Dec-2014.

"Red Roses For A Blue Lady" by Wayne Newton

I've been playing this album the last couple of days and I really enjoy it.  So I thought I would post my favorite songs from it.

Wayne Newton is another artist that is often maligned for being... I don't know what word to use... fluff?  Not a serious artist?  Admittedly not Enrico_Caruso.  I remember someone came into my office some years ago and I was listening to the "Red Roses For A Blue Lady" CD and they were freaked out that I could listen to such tripe.  My feeling is that if you enjoy listening to a piece of music what is the problem?

I was just thinking that it still feels a bit strange to think that now I'm on the opposite side of this equation.  :)

I just love it when an album has the original stickers on it too.  This album has a sticker from Skaggs Drug.  Bought many albums there.  And many ice cream cones as well :)

"When The Morning Comes" by Daryl Hall & John Oates

I decided I should post my favorite Hall & Oates songs.  This is one from the "Abandoned Luncheonette" album.  The album that had the hit "She's Gone" on it.

"Say it Isn't So" by Daryl Hall & John Oates

I told someone today "I don't believe it! Say it isn't so" and it reminded me of this song.

I so remember seeing this video on MTV.  OMG that was a long time ago...

"Another Day" by Paul McCartney & Wings

I was thinking this morning here we go, it's another day, and it reminded me of this song.  BTW - I'm not sad, just tired.  Only 3 hours of sleep last night  :(

Note: I originally posted this on the 11th, but I wanted to finish the series of the first side of the Jethro Tull "Living In the Past" album so I moved it to the 12th.

"Driving Song" by Jethro Tull

Track 5 from the "Living In the Past" album.  It's so cool that there are 45 RPM singles of so many of these songs!

"A Song for Jeffrey" by Jethro Tull

A while ago I recorded three sides of the "Living In the Past" vinyl album to a CD-R .  I was always annoyed that they left one of my favorite songs off the "Living In the Past" CD.  That just ruined it for me.

Anyway, I was playing the CD-R in the truck today and thinking how much I enjoy most of the songs on it.

This is the track that starts it off.  Originally from their first album, "This Was".  The "BBC Sessions" video has the lyrics in the comments, but I'm not sure they are all correct.  I think it sounds more like he says "Don't cease to see where I'm going."

"Angie Baby" by Helen Reddy

My other favorite Helen Reddy song.  It's a little creepy, but I love songs that convey a story...

"Deadbeat Club" by The B-52's

Front of one of my favorite old T-shirts

Update 2017-07-25:

I was looking through the photos from my old camera and found this photo I had taken the day before this.  Me thinks I've lost a bit of weight since those days  :)

All of my life I've told people "I have to watch my girlish figure" (a prelude to what was to come :)  Now it's true!

I had forgotten about this fun song, also from the "Cosmic Thing" album.

"Channel Z" by The B-52's

Another great song from the B-52's "Cosmic Thing" album.  I so want a red dress with polka dots like the one Cindy Wilson (I think) is wearing in the video.
