I'm a transgender woman who has loved music for as long as I can remember. My earliest memories are of sitting on the floor and listening to 45's and 78's. Music is the essential part of my life. I put the "Very Dionne" album on the turntable this morning and heard this song for the first song. I love it! I can relate to the lyrics:

I've got to go on living, I just can't exist
I want to taste all of the things I've missed

This is one of those songs that paint such a vivid picture.
