"Lost in a Lost World" by The Moody Blues

 

This was my dress for today, 6/26/2021. A few days ago I went over to Lancer and took some photos of my Mazda RX8. I have decided to try to sell it. I found this dress in the Mazda.

There was a place I used to go that had a dress code and many of my dresses were too short. Showed too much leg LOL 😆 I kept this dress in my Mazda for the case where the dress I was wearing that day was not approved. I would just pull this dress over the offending dress.

I loaded a bunch of the old metal parts and some old computer stuff into Acadia's truck to take to the metal recycling today and the hazardous waste. But when I went over there, I found the metal recycling places were all closed on Saturdays now.

So I headed out to the Salt Lake County Waste Management. I was passing this power distribution area and thought it would be a good place for a photo. But I had forgotten to take the camera with me.

I don't think the woman at the kiosk I went to knew about the metal recycling there and wanted to charge me $15 to dispose of the metal. I was like no thanks and just dropped off the computer stuff. All the metal is still in the back of Acadia's truck.

Later I took my Prius and drove back out to the power distribution thing. When I got there I realized I had forgotten the camera AGAIN! Argh!!! I was fucking frustrated! I sure as hell wasn't driving out there a third time.

So I took some packing tape I had in the glove box and taped my phone in the window of the Prius and took this photo. It was backlit so you cant see the dress very well. I took the second photo when I got home so you could see the dress better.

"It's a Beautiful Day" by The New Seekers

This is my dress for 2/27/2021.  I hadn't really thought about it until I looked in the mirror in the ladies room at the grocery store and realized I had worn a black bra under a white dress.  Oops!

I was playing that CD I'm holding in the car today.  I recorded that CD in December of 2014 as a Christmas / New's gift for friends and family.  The title on the copy I'm holding ids "Rachel's Happy New Year".  Since I was only out to a few people at the end of 2014, many people got a CD titled "Scott's Happy New Year".

2014 was really the first year of my life that I really found happiness.  When one of the songs on the CD titled "It's a Beautiful Day" came on I told Acadia the story about that particular song.

Starting around the first of September 2014 I volunteered at the front desk at the Utah Pride Center every Tuesday morning.  As a side note: I didn't dare let the neighbors see me in women's clothes at that point, so I would wear a men's T-shirt and jeans over them and then take them off when I was stopped at red lights.

Anyway, I was playing a very old cassette tape in the car on the way to the Pride Center and the song "It's a Beautiful Day" started playing.  I looked around at the beautiful sky, the sun was out and I realized that it was an absolutely beautiful day. And I was on my way to the Utah Pride Center that was like heaven on Earth at that point because I could be ME, a WOMAN!!

I cried all the way to and from Smith's Marketplace tonight thinking what that CD represents: the first year of my life that I found joy and happiness!

I'm absolutely certain that was the very first time in my life that I ever thought it was a BEAUTIFUL DAY!

I decided to wear my "Flapper" dress for 2/26/2021.  But I couldn't think where to take a photo of me in it.  It occurred to me that I had worn this dress to karaoke, at the SunTrapp for the New's Eve Party at the end of 2019.  I thought I'll go take a picture at the SunTrapp and have a beer at the same time.

Michael walked in just after me and we started talking about the Mazda.  He said he was a "car whore", so I said I'm a car whore too.  Then he said "so you're a car whore and a dress whore.".  To which I replied "pretty much, yeah".  LOL   I completely forgot about "shoe whore" too. ;)

"Radioactive" by Marina and the Diamonds

This was my dress for 2/25/2021.  It was a bad day, it was high stress and it impacted my MS symptoms.  My balance ws horrible.  I tipped over at least a dozen times.  So I didn't actually take a photo yesterday.  This photo was taken last week of me in the same dress.

It occurred to me that I could bring the old distributor cap and spark plug wires into the house and use  them as a pattern to assemble the new plugs and wires.

At the end of last year I was thinking I had a hell of a lot of dresses and I decided to count them.  I counted almost 90 (and there is likely more).  At the first of the year I thought it would be fun to wear a different dress each day and see if I could make it into April without wearing the same dress.  Starting on January 3, 2021, I wore the first dress in this quest.  Then a friend suggested I post them on Instagram.  Now I think I'm going to start my blog again and post them here as well.

Update 27-June-2021: like a month or two (I don't know exactly when) Google changed the blogger interface back again such that it is usable again.  I know there were many like me that hated the new interface.  It is very similar now to the old legacy interface.  So I plan to still make blog posts.

Finally putting the new windshield wiper motor into CeCe.  Unfortunately I can't say it was a huge success, the low speed doesn't work, it only runs in high and the wipers don't park.  They stop wherever you turn them off.

I wrote back and had to add how I feel today:

I was thinking yesterday, after seeing the news, it's kind of ironic at this point I feel like I'm living an American Nightmare.  Ever since Trump took office I've felt humiliated by what a complete horror he is.  I've talked with people I know in other countries and feel like we are a laughing stock and it's just gotten worse and worse.  I have to say the "Elect a Clown, Expect a Circus" bumper stickers are spot on.  I feel embarrassed and ashamed of all the stuff that is happening in this country and it just keeps getting worse.  We just had a rally here last night for a 13 year old autistic child the police shot in the back 11 times because he wigged out when they stopped him.  I mean WTF man?!!?  And then Notorious RBG passed away at this worst moment possible.  I just can't even fathom those hypocrites in the Senate, that they can totally do an about face like that. It's an absolute disgrace!!!  And it's hard to even wrap my head around Trump's base / followers, they are in some alternate reality.
